Behind the Scenes
Here you'll find examples of how I design and build a scene. I am most drawn to illustrating children's stories that deal with complicated emotions from a realistic perspective and offer something for all ages to enjoy. I am influenced by the visual worlds and words of Maurice Sendak, Raymond Briggs, and Eric Carle, and more recently, Jon Klassen and Sophie Blackhall.
Process
I am a mixed media artist and my work is largely composed of pen and watercolour, gouache, pastel, and pencil. I also incorporate collage techniques and papercraft.
